General questions
-
What is Mallport?
Mallport is a UK-focused platform for agriculture and food: listings (goods and services), a farmers’ markets directory, news, and hubs for climate-smart knowledge, farmer-led innovation, and agricultural intelligence (reference data from public feeds). We help producers and businesses show what they offer and help buyers find them; we also publish and curate editorial content for the sector.
-
Who can use Mallport?
Anyone in the United Kingdom who wants to discover or advertise food and farm-related goods or services—farmers, growers, food businesses, buyers, and service providers (for example agritech, logistics, or advisory services where listed appropriately).
-
Is Mallport free to use?
Browsing and core member features are free in the usual way. Seller advertising on the service may be paid where we offer paid placement or promotion—see current options in your dashboard or checkout. Mallport does not take a commission on sales between buyers and sellers because those deals are arranged between you directly, off the platform.
For sellers
-
How do I list products or services on Mallport?
Create an account, confirm your email, and sign in. Use Add listing (or equivalent in the header/menu), choose product (goods) or service as appropriate, complete the details, add images if you can, and publish. Accurate classification helps buyers and keeps listings aligned with our terms.
-
What can I sell or advertise?
A wide range of UK-relevant agricultural and food-sector goods (produce, livestock-related products, inputs, equipment where listed appropriately, etc.) and services (e.g. logistics, consulting, hire—list as services, not as physical products). If you are unsure, pick the option that matches what the buyer receives and contact support@mallport.co.uk if staff need to correct misleading categories.
-
Are there fees for selling?
Mallport is an advertising and connection platform. We do not process payment for your goods or services between you and buyers. Any fees for advertising on Mallport are separate and disclosed when you buy that advertising. There are no platform “commissions” on buyer–seller deals because those happen outside Mallport.
-
How do I manage my listings?
Use your dashboard and listing tools to edit, mark sold, archive, or remove listings. You can also manage profile information and any optional programmes (where offered) from account areas linked from the site.
-
What does “verified seller” mean?
Where shown, it means Mallport has done an internal review of business profile information you supplied. It is not a government or statutory approval and does not guarantee every listing. See the verified sellers explainer.
For buyers
-
How do I find listings?
Use Marketplace categories and filters, search, and regional or thematic discovery where we provide it. The Markets section lists farmers’ markets and related venues. Homepage cards link to major areas (marketplace, hubs, news, community).
-
How do I contact a seller?
Open a listing and use Contact seller (and on-site messaging where available). Some sellers may share phone or other details according to their settings. Keep communication clear and polite.
-
How do I pay or arrange delivery?
You agree price, payment method, collection or delivery, and any returns directly with the seller. Mallport does not provide escrow, checkout for goods, shipping, or dispute resolution for private deals.
-
Is there an on-site payment system for goods?
No. The only payments processed through Mallport are those related to seller advertising on the service, as described in the terms.
Account management
-
How do I create an account?
Choose Sign up, enter your details, and complete email verification when prompted. Social login may be offered depending on site configuration.
-
How do I reset my password?
Use Forgot password on the sign-in page and follow the email link.
-
Can I change my username or email?
Update profile and account settings from your account area. If something is locked for security, use support.
News, knowledge, innovation, and community
-
What is the news section for?
Articles and updates on UK agriculture and related topics—policy context, practice, and sector stories. It sits alongside dedicated hubs for knowledge (topic-led, climate-smart angles), innovation (programmes, suppliers, case studies where featured), and intelligence (reference widgets from cached public data—operational context, not statutory alerting).
-
How often is content updated?
Editorial cadence varies. Feeds and hubs refresh on their own schedules; check each area for the latest posts or data timestamps where shown.
-
Can I contribute content?
News is primarily editor-led. Community features (such as farm stories, forums, events, or groups—where enabled) may allow members to publish or participate according to site rules. Innovation areas may include pitches or submissions where we say so on the page. For editorial or partnership ideas, email support@mallport.co.uk.

Additional questions
-
Is Mallport available outside the UK?
The product is built for the United Kingdom. Use from elsewhere may be limited or unsupported.
-
Can I list services?
Yes, where they are genuine agricultural or food-sector services and you list them as services, not as physical products.
-
How can I stay safe when dealing with other members?
Use clear communication, confirm details before paying, prefer traceable payment methods you trust, and meet in safe locations for handovers when appropriate. Mallport does not guarantee other users; exercise normal care as you would in any classified or professional marketplace.
-
How does verification work?
Accounts typically require email confirmation. The verified seller badge (where shown) reflects Mallport’s internal checks on business profile information—not a government licence. Always rely on your own judgement for each deal.
